Vampire Diaries Renewal and Hiatus

I just read this at spoilertv.com:

Apparently THE CW is deep in contracts negotiations and is finalizing the paperwork for renewing :
Gossip Girl ,90210 ,Smallville ,Supernatural , ANTM and The Vampire Diaries for next season.
Expect official renewal annoucements for the above shows later this month.

And The Vampire Diaries will be going on a 6 week hiatus after the February 11th episode.  Bummer.  But the show will start back on March 25th and then continue without interruptions until the season finale on May 13th
