Ian Somerhalder: “Lost end was powerful”
filed in Interviews

Ian Somerhalder has revealed that he was satisfied with the way Lost ended.

Somerhalder, who played Boone in the show, explained that the episode could never have pleased everyone.

“The finale was such a monumental thing because it spanned six years of phenomenal storytelling,” he told AOL. “For some viewers it was exuberant because it answered the questions they wanted answering and it was somewhat disappointing for other viewers.”

He added: “We all had an idea of where we wanted the story to go and it ended, I think, very powerfully, very neatly, and yet like any good story it still left you answering questions.”

How To Make Love to a Woman on DVD
filed in Project News

Here’s some of the specs on the “How To Make Love to a Woman” Blu Ray and DVD release:

This July, Josh Meyers, Krysten Ritter (She’s Out of My League), and Ian Somerhalder (“Vampire Diaries,” “Lost”) will discover love never comes easy in Scott Culver’s new indie comedy HOW TO MAKE LOVE TO A WOMAN. In the mega-grossing, box-office busting tradition of American Pie and The 40 Year Old Virgin, sex and comedy collide head on to outrageous effect in a direct-to-DVD soon-to-be classic, premiering on both DVD and Blu-ray…only from E1 Entertainment.

After sex one night, Andy (Meyers), a music executive with no idea how to satisfy his girlfriend (Ritter), hears Lauren actually sigh. Panic ensues and Andy turns to advice from his fellow musician pals as well as adult film legend Jenna Jameson (playing herself), but finds time running out when Lauren’s handsome childhood friend (Somerhalder) appears. But even with the help of his friends, a bombshell porn star and tantric experts, Andy continues to stumble in the bedroom, until he finally realizes that in order to bring about the “O” word for Lauren, he must first say the “L” word in this funny, edgy and honest comedy which promises to take home audiences down a new road of relationship follies.

Sporting a hot soundtrack, featuring the music of Yellowcard, Saosin, Hello, Goodbye, Mayday Parade and more, HOW TO MAKE LOVE TO A WOMAN also stars the inimitable Ken Jeong (The Hangover, Role Models, “Community”), Eugene Byrd and James Hong.

Ian Somerhalder “Shaken” By Lack of Hollywood Support While Visiting Gulf Region
filed in Interviews

Have you heard of the latest Louisiana hot spot, the “Prius cabana suite”?

It’s what Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder calls the place he just spent the night.

“That would be my rental car that I had to sleep in,” Ian explains. “I couldn’t find anywhere to stay. There’s so many people here trying to tame this beast.”

That “beast” is the devastating BP oil spill affecting a vast area that includes Ian’s home state of Louisiana, which he is visiting now in an effort to help. Our E! News cameras just caught up with him exclusively…

Make sure you check out E! News tonight at 7 for Ian’s full report.

And above, check out more exclusive video with Ian in Louisiana.

Ian tells us he’s hoping more people will get involved in relief efforts–especially those in the Industry.

“Coming from the entertainment world, I’m really shaken by how quiet Hollywood is,” the actor admits. ”And I say that out of respect for my peers and colleagues, but I’m really bummed that no one is really coming up to help the situation. I think a telethon is a good way to funnel money into these channels…We need to set one of those things up to really paint a picture of exactly how much devastation is here.

“This is ground zero right now,” Ian adds, as he surveys more of the devastating effects of the spill in the region. “I’m looking at this slick of oil. I’ve been watching pelicans die…This place is going to need money, that is the bottom line–money in the right hands to replant these marshes.”

This was actually Ian’s second trip to the region in recent weeks. He is from Covington, La., and is very involved with St. Tammany’s Humane Society, a local animal shelter that has been caring for pelicans affected by the spill. You can get more information on the organization here and on Twitter.

Ian went to his hometown a few weeks ago to tape a PSA that would draw attention to the oil spill and how it is affecting local wildlife. And after finishing a press tour in Monte Carlo, he returned this week to see what he can do to help.

“You know, it’s crazy,” Ian says, “which really breaks my heart…If you look at all these beaches right here. It’s a June afternoon–this beach would be littered with families, kids playing, dads on the pier with their buddies fishing. None of that’s here…The things you remember, the times you spent with your parents or your grandparents, brothers, sisters, fishing and learning about the ecology here is…it’s your base, it’s your root and you’ll do anything, you will fight tooth and nail to protect it.”

Celebrities Sound Off And Lend Support to Oil Spill Crisis
filed in Ian News

The Deepwater Horizon was a floating oil drilling platform located in the Gulf of Mexico.  On April 20th, there was an oil rig explosion causing a fire on board the Deepwater Horizon and a leak in the pipe underwater carrying oil.  The massive ongoing oil spill has been compared to the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill, but seemed to have already eclipsed the largest oil spill in US history.

The oil continues to gush 210,000 – 4,200,000 gallons of crude oil every day!  To put things into perspective an Olympic sized swimming pool is about 600,000 gallons.  So on an average day, upwards of seven swimming pools filled with oil is contaminating our water, wetland, and as of late, it seems that the Atlantic Ocean near Florida is in threat.

Celebrities are rallying together to help bring attention to this horrific event in hopes to get some real action.  Benefit concerts have been held, fans are being urged to contact their state officials, and one Oscarwinner has a good chance of aiding in the cleanup with his own device.  Find out how you can get involved and learn more about the largest US oil spill.

Ian Somerhalder of Lost and The Vampire Diaries is using fame for a good cause.  The wildly popular star is reaching out to the masses about the catastrophic oil spill affecting the Gulf Coast.  Ian, who has been communicating with people via Twitter, sent an update claiming that to date 23 birds, 156 sea turtles, and 12 dolphins have perished due to this man-made disaster.  He is also encouraging his 200,000 plus followers to RT his messages and asks you to call your Senator and Congressman.
